The Dance of The Butterfly

Part 1 ( The Communion)

Written 6/10/98

Moon beams shine soft chandeliers down towards dungeons of doom...

Yes, I hear your voice sister, calling the racing winds of rage upon your fluttering wings...

The flight was short until now, but in time the spoon will dip its cup into the river of awareness, where - for a brief moment - we will understand each other completely...

No amount of words can cleverly emerge to grasp this understanding...

No formulas, beliefs, or knowledge can render a concrete explanation for this unfolding - of perfect communion...

When two souls are tortured by intellectual understanding of each other and wrapped in bondage by the limitations of words, this kind of communication builds bridges across oceans of confusion and misunderstanding.

This communion is mind shattering - leading to unthinking - a complete void of thoughts; only, a mesmerizing mingling of spirits weaved together in a swirl of deep whirl pools, like drowning dandelions dancing, deeper...

Days go by, months pass by, years fly by and the butterfly flies away...

She's gone - she's gone

Part 2 (The Song of the Butterfly)

Written 7/14/98

And I long to re-capture the butterfly...

I sit in my room and re-member the integration her touch provided...

The butterfly - in its essence - flutters its wings and sings love songs in the hearts of her worshipers, giving life the sweetness of its fruit; begging her to indulge me for a communion, for a connection, for her prison...

My love for her turns into rage once the cold steel caged doors of my possessiveness close in on her fragile wings...

So, instead I release her back to the freedom of the air beneath her wings, and as she spreads her wings and flies away, I realize that the song she sings in the dance with the air and her fluttering wings, is the reason I loved her all along.

Part 3 (Becoming the Butterfly)

Written in 2002

And as the butterfly flies away I smile in my heart with laughter...

It springs forth with joy and a little bit of sadness...

And I rest assured and my eyes are looking back lovingly, and looking forward lovingly with knowing...

Knowing that the butterfly is me...

The butterfly is within me, and without me...

I am the butterfly that sings love songs in the hearts of my worshipers...

I am the butterfly that gives the flower the beauty of its fragrance...

I am the butterfly that is the eyes of the innocent child...

I am the butterfly that breaths through silence - crying...

The butterfly is me, and the butterfly is set free in my knowing...

I am set free in my knowing...

In my knowing, that the song I sing with the dance between the air and my fluttering wings, is the reason I loved myself all along.

Part IV ( "The" reason Why.)

Fly butterfly... Fly....  Free

Fly butterfly... Fly...   Free

I say this to myself as I feel the strength and support from the air beneath my strong wings...

As I fly - I sing love songs

As I fly - I feel the freedom and strength of the song with the dance between the air and my fluttering wings - I feel the freedom...

As I fly - I see other butterflies flying with me.

As I fly through the sky of my life, I see a swarm of butterflies all around me - everywhere I look I see butterflies flying... Free... Just like me.

Fly butterflies... fly... Free with me

Fly butterflies... fly...  Free with me

Everywhere I look I see...

Everywhere - I look -  I see...

Butterflies flying - all around me.

I'm so grateful...

I'm so very grateful that I can see them...

Gratitude is filling me up and pouring out of me...

Thank you God for letting my eyes see them, and for letting my eyes see them in me...and me in them...

I'm so very grateful that I see the butterflies - in everything and everyone I see - and in me.

All I see now is Butterflies, and Butterflies soon to be - as caterpillars soon to be free with me.

I see the butterfly that is me.

I see the butterfly in children.

I see the butterfly in the drug addict.

I see the butterfly in the criminal.

I see the butterfly in the prostitute.

I see the butterfly in all animals.

I see the butterfly in all people, places, and things...

I see the butterfly is Life.

I see that the song the world sings with dance of the air and its fluttering wings....
